Well deserved honor for Pat Summitt

Pat Summitt has been an inspiration to me for a long time, as a basketball player, a coach and also as a filmmaker. And not for her success, but for her tremendous ability and passion for the game, personality, courage and leadership. I was crushed when I found out she was diagnosed with early onset dementia late last year, but so happy that she continued coaching the Lady Vols to another NCAA Championship. She is so deserving of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2012 ESPY's, do yourself a favor if you missed it and watch the clip from the awards show.

Thank you Coach Summitt for being a huge reason why women's basketball has evolved and come as far as it has.  Much like the great players and coaches in other sports who have paved the way, Summitt will continue to be an inspiration to young girls and women to watch, play, and be a part of the game of basketball for years to come.

Music Video Shoot

This past weekend I had the opportunity to be on set for a music video with directors Jeremy Alter and Meiert Avis. Both are well-known directors in the world of music videos, commercials and films. It was a real pleasure to "talk film" with Meiert and Jeremy, who now primarily shoot on digital with the changing times of technology in the entertainment industry.

(On Location --- Jeremy Alters, Melissa and Meiert Avis)

Meiert has directed music videos for some big names in music, which include: Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Avril Lavigne, Jennifer Lopez, Evanescence, Matchbox 20, H.I.M, and U2 to name a few. His work has won multiple awards an nominations including a Grammy Award for U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name."

Jeremy has worked on numerous motion pictures as well as directed and produced music videos for Social Distortion, Halestorm, New Found Glory, Chris Cornell, and Mishon.

I am not at liberty to discuss the details of the music video at this time, so be sure to check back soon for an update!

The one and only Ed Asner!

I recently had the opportunity to meet and speak with well-known actor and fellow Chicagoan, Ed Asner. It was an absolute pleasure to watch him work, he is a true professional and a sweet man!

He will be making a special guest appearance on an upcoming episode of
The Middle, be sure to tune in Wednesday 8|7c on ABC!
