Pat Summitt has been an inspiration to me for a long time, as a basketball player, a coach and also as a filmmaker. And not for her success, but for her tremendous ability and passion for the game, personality, courage and leadership. I was crushed when I found out she was diagnosed with early onset dementia late last year, but so happy that she continued coaching the Lady Vols to another NCAA Championship. She is so deserving of the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the 2012 ESPY's, do yourself a favor if you missed it and watch the clip from the awards show.

Thank you Coach Summitt for being a huge reason why women's basketball has evolved and come as far as it has. Much like the great players and coaches in other sports who have paved the way, Summitt will continue to be an inspiration to young girls and women to watch, play, and be a part of the game of basketball for years to come.
